Events 2010

12th June 2010           - Exhibition

This year we had the use of the hall at the rear of the church in addition to the normal main church area.

Layouts on show were a mixture of old favourites and a couple of new ones.

The North Essex group had made significant progress on the scenics on Saneham Tey since last year. the sand sidings / load facility is particularly impressive There are further developments in progress which will see new scratchbuilt buildings based on actual structures in the area added.

The groups own modules were again on display with a slightly different mixture from last year. With further modules in development we hope to show a further varied selection next year.

Ipswich Railways Modellers Association attended with their American plains layout Clinton Bend. Ted Cotton (unable to attend last year due to illness) was back with his layout based on the nearby Woodbridge station / area. Trevor brought along his GWR branchline layout, Wilvey, this year in its larger 16' x 5' version. Eddie again brought along his circular layout Padnal, which has seen a number of scenic updates and revised automatic control circuitry.

Ray Hansen once again supported us along with Carol and members from the Clacton group, bringing us the society secondhand shop and a layout from the group.

We were pleased to welcome a new layout to the exhibition by Simon. This was a compact layout with much operational interest.

We must say special thank the ladies who ran the refreshments throughout the day and 'the Good Food Shop' that provided the exhibitors lunches.

Finally the group would like to thank all the exhibitors, traders and stewards for there support and of course to all our visitors.
