13th June 2009 - Exhibition
This years show followed the tried and trusted format from the previous years
We again enjoyed the support of two other local groups (Clacton & Suffolk / North Essex) along with layouts from our own group members and the n gauge section from Ipswich railway Modellers Association (IRMA).
New for this year was the groups modular layout running as a complete circuit in a rectangular configuration.. As this was the first time in this configuration, there were some setup and early running problems. The layout was built from a selection of our regular modules with a pair of partially modules making up the number required. (we have since used this configuration at a couple of exhibitions the group has attended).
Other group members showing layouts were Eddie with his hexagonal layout (with circular track), with a number of new stock items on display and Trevor again showing Wilvey (late replacement due to illness of another exhibitor).
The North Essex group again showed their layout based on Marks Tey. Scenic work is now well underway and will be a very impressive layout once complete. The Clacton group layout was also showing additions since last year and used to display a wide selection of stock. From IRMA we had Winsford Hill which features a double track main line with a quarry feature with loading sidings.
Trade support was once again from Carol and Ray Hansen for bringing along the Society 2nd hand items, Neil from Scograil for his new N gauge items (and layout from Adam) and Mike Symonds (Electronix Connections) for his range of electrical items.
We again enjoyed good support from modellers and the general public and were able to make a generous donation to the Methodist Church.
Finally the group would like to thank all the exhibitors, traders and stewards for there support and of course to all our visitors.
Unfortunately no images are available from this years show.
